Salawat Nasab Shariif – The story of the Salawat of the Noble Lineage

The story of the Salawat of the Noble Lineage

Arif Billah Shaykh Abd-al-Maqsuud Muhammad Saalim was the Founder of the Jamaa’ah Tilaawatul Quran al Kariim (Noble Quran Recitation Group in Cairo, a commentator of the
Qur-an and the author of the books: Light of truth in Sending Blesssings on the Best of Creation ﷺ; In the Dominion of Allah with the Names of Allah; Remembrance and Protection; and The Comfort of the Souls. The shaykh says:

How much in my life I have been exposed to many, adversities and trials, but Allah Almighty used to inspire me with the blessing of perseverance, patience and strength of faith, and I always sensed His wisdom in what He afflicts His servants, and I always remember that His kindness is hidden in the folds of His affliction, and the verses of Allah always assure me the correctness of this feeling.

However, the human soul, except for those who are protected by Allah, may by its nature, be disturbed in the face of any calamity, and the fear almost makes it forget what we have previously mentioned of the meanings of faith and beautiful patience.
At one time, I was exposed to a catastrophe that almost ravaged the meanings and values that I embraced, believed in and lived on, and this ordeal was prolonged and the days passed slowly, and heavily, carrying moans and groans, and I saw disturbing visions in my sleep. However Allah Almighty wa inspired me to say: “Oh Allah, for the sake of our Prophet ﷺ, our master Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib….(to the end of his noble lineage), then to say.. “Oh Allah, remove this calamity from us.”

So (when I recited this) He showed me (another vision) of myself flying in space, rising above these obstacles, and passing them to the path of security and peace. Sometimes Allah inspires me, in these visions of safety and refuge, to say this salawaat: “Oh Allah bless and bless our master Muhammad bin Abdullah…” to the twentieth grandfather (Adnan), and I felt reassured, calm and peaceful after reciting this”

After repeated recitations of this Salawaat of the noble lineage, Allah willed that I would one day pray the noon prayer in the masjid of Sayyiduna Husayn , and I read these salawaat several times there and thereafter I left for home. Sleep overtook me, and I saw myself in the masjid of our master Sayyiduna Husayn, , standing in front of his honorable resting place, and I addressed his pure and bright soul, saying,

السلام عليك يا أمير المؤمنين ورحمة الله وبركاته
Peace be upon you O Commander of the faithful, with the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Then in a booming awe inspiring voice that filled the masjid and shook its sides came the reply

وعليكم السلام ورحمه الله وبركاته
and Peace be upon You and His blessings

So I considered this generous response as a sign of the acceptance of these salawat. And for this reason I took it as a wird that I recited whenever something happened to me or something bad happened to me thus no calamity descended on me and I recited it except that Allah made a way out for me and granted me relief. And never was I in great distress and narrow circumstances and I read it but that I saw after it a supportive help (from Allah).
In summary, I used to previously see in what a sleeper sees of disturbing dreams, such as “closed doors and blocked roads,” and after reciting this salawaat which I previously did not know in wakefulness, I saw myself rising from the ground into the air, and I crossed these difficulties to the path of security and peace. Thanks to its recitation, many complex problems have been solved, and many difficult needs have been fulfiled, and in all cases they are beneficial according to the intention of the reciter.
