Be careful when spreading hadith

Be careful when spreading hadith:

Allah, the Most High, says,

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,

“Whoever intentionally lies about me shall have a house built in the Hell-Fire.” (Al-Haithami in Majma’ Al-Zawa’id)

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam also said,

“Whoever intentionally lies about me shall take a place for himself in Hell.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,

“Whoever relates words purportedly from me, thinking it is a lie, is a liar.” (Ibn Majah and Ahmad)

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam also said,

“A lie about me is not the same as a lie about someone else: whoever intentionally lies about me shall take a place for himself in Hell.” (Bukhari and Ahmad)

It was related that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,

“Whoever relates something from me I have not said shall take a place for himself in Hell.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam also said,

“The Believer is created familiarized with everything except treachery and lying.” (Ahmad and Al-Baihaqi)

We ask Allah to guide and protect us; He is the Most Generous.

THE BENEFIT AND BARAKAH OF ISTIGHFAAR

THE BENEFIT AND BARAKAH OF ISTIGHFAAR

A man once came to al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).”

Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”

Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”

The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?”

Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12]

There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah. The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains. As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (صلي ألله عليه و سلم).

“Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33]

As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33]

أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله…

Do not ever leave istighfar!

Please forward and remember that you will receive the reward for all those who make istighfar, due to your reminder.

TARAWEEH SALAAH… IN THE GOLDEN ERA OF ISLAM

TARAWEEH SALAAH… IN THE GOLDEN ERA OF ISLAM

(THE DAYS OF THE SAHÂBAH, TÂBI’ÎN AND TABA’ TÂBI’ÎN)

[A Sahaabi is a Muslim who was blessed with seeing Rasulullah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) –

A Tâbi’ee is a Muslim who saw a Sahâbi – A Tâbi’ Tâbi’ee is a Muslim who saw a Tâbi’ee]

LENGTHENING OF THE TARAWEEH SALAAH

Saa’ib bin Yazeed (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) says:

◙ In the days of Sayyiduna Umar (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu), the Taraweeh Salaah used to be so lengthy, that some of us had to take support from our walking sticks to remain standing! (The infirm and the sick)

He adds: The Taraweeh used to terminate in the early hours of the morning, just a little before Subh Saadiq!

(Muwatta Imam Maalik – awjazul masaalik 2/300)

◙ In the noble era of Sayyiduna Uthmaan (radhiyallaahu anhu) too, they used to take support from their walking sticks, due to the long Taraweeh Salaat. (Rigorously Authenticated-Baihaqee–sanaduhu saheeh-aathaarus sunan pg.251)

Aboo Bakr Ansaari Bukhaari (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), who passed away around 120 A.H., says:

◙ Upon completing Taraweeh, we used to return home and rush the servants to bring the food for sehri, since very little time was left before Subh Saadiq! (Muwatta Imaam Maalik – awjazul masaalik 2/308)

120 YEAR OLD IMAAM PERFORMING ALL 20 RAKA’AAT OF TARAWEEH SALAAH!

► Suwayd bin Ghafalah (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) was a Taabi’ee. He arrived in Madeenah Munawwarah the day Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was buried.

Waleed bin Ali says:

Suwayd bin Ghafalah (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) reached the age of 120 and he still used to be our Imaam in the Taraweeh Salaah! He used to perform all 20 raka’aat himself!

(Authenticated -Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah 2/287; Bayhaqi isnaaduhu hasan–aathaarus sunan pg. 253)

► Abu Rajaa ‘Utaaridee (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) was also a Taabi’ee. He passed away at the ripe old age of 120.

He himself says: “I was so frail and weak that I could not even walk. People used to carry me from my home to the Masjid!”

He would then lead the Taraweeh Salaah, reciting about 30 aayaat in each raka’aat, which if multiplied by 20, will equal to about 3 paras (juz) of the Qur’aan Kareem!

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.12)

RECITATION OF THE QUR’AAN KAREEM IN TARAWEEH SALAAH

±1 PARA (JUZ)

● The Khaleefah, Umar bin Abdul Azeez (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) used to instruct the Imaams to recite at least 10 aayaat of the Qur’aan Kareem in every Raka’aat of Taraweeh.

This roughly amounts to completing 1 Khatam during the month of Ramadhaan.

(Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah 2/284)

±2 PARAS (JUZ)

● This was the approximate amount recited by ‘Abdurrahmaan bin Abi Bakrah, Sa’eed bin Abil Hasan and ‘Imraan ‘Abdi (rahmatullaahi ‘alayhim).

They used to complete 2 Khatams in the Taraweeh Salaah.

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.12)

±3 PARAS (JUZ)

● This was the approximate amount recited daily in Taraweeh by the famous Taabi’ee, Sa’eed bin Jubayr (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), who was made Shaheed (martyred) by Hajjaaj bin Yusuf in 95 A.H.

This roughly amounts to completing 3 Khatams in the Taraweeh Salaah. (Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah 2/284; 286)

±4¼ PARA’S (JUZ) DAILY

● Abu Mijlaz (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), a Taabi’ee (passed away around 106 A.H.) used to lead the congregation in all 20 Raka’aat of Taraweeh by himself. He used to make a khatam of the Qur’aan in Taraweeh Salaah once every 7 nights!

(Mukhtasar qiyamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.11; Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah 2/284)

● Another Taabi’ee, Basheer bin Naheek (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), (passed away 105 A.H.) had the same practice of completing a Khatam once every 7 nights in Taraweeh Salaah!

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.12)

±5 PARAS (JUZ)

● During the days of the famous Sahaabi Sayyidunaa Abdullah bin Zubair (radhiyallaahu anhu), Umar bin Munzhir (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh) used to be the Imaam. He used to recite about 50 aayaat in every Rak’at of the Taraweeh Salaah!

When multiplied by 20, it equals to approximately 5 paras (juz) daily!

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.12)

● During the khilaafat of Sayyiduna Umar (radhiyallaahu anhu), some of the Imaams used to recite between 50 and 60 ayaat in every rak’at in the Taraweeh Salaah!

When multiplied by 20, it roughly amounts to between 5 and 6 paras (juz) daily!

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.9,12)

● Maymoon bin Mihraan rahmatullaahi ‘alayh, a Tabi’ee, (passed away 117 A.H.) says:

The day the Imaam recited only about 50 aayaat in each rak’at of Taraweeh, (which when multiplied by 20, equals to about 5 paras), the people used to say that today the Imaam read a short Taraweeh!

(Mukhtasar qiyaamil layl-qiyaam ramadhaan pg.13)

This roughly amounts to completing 5 Khatams during the month of Ramadhaan.

±5¾ PARAS (JUZ)

● Ibn Abi Mulaikah (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), a Taabi’ee, (passed away in 117 A.H.), used to be Imaam for the entire 20 raka’aat. He used to recite as long as Surah Faatir in one rak’at.

He adds: Nobody ever told me that any of the Muqtadee’s (followers) find it too long!

The amount recited in one rak’at by Ibn Abi Mulaikah, when multiplied by the 20 raka’aat he used to perform, amounts to approximately 5¾ paras!

(Rigorously authenticated-Musannaf ibn abi shaybah- 2/284-(7764) bisanad saheeh-aathaarus sunan pg.254)

● Imaam A’raj (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), a Taabi’ee, (passed away in 117 A.H.) says:

The Imaam used to recite the entire Surah Baqarah over 8 raka’aat, (which amounts to approximately 5¾ paras over 20 raka’aat).

He adds:

This was the normal practice. The day the Imaam spread Surah Baqarah over 12 Raka’aat, (which amounts to approximately 4 paras over the 20 raka’aat) the people would say that the Imaam read a short Taraweeh today!

(Muwatta Imaam Maalik-awjazul masaalik 2/307)

This roughly amounts to completing 6 Khatams during the month of Ramadhaan.

±7¾ PARAS (JUZ)

● Imaam Masrooq (rahmatullaahi ‘alayh), a Taabi’ee, (passed away in 62 A.H.) recited the entire Surah ‘Ankaboot in one rak’at. When multiplied by 20 raka’aat, it amounts to ±7¾ paras!

This roughly amounts to completing almost 8 Khatams during the month of Ramadhaan.

(Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah 2/284)

SO THE DAY YOU ARE FEELING TIRED OR A LITTLE LAZY, JUST THINK OF THE LENGTHY TARAWEEH SALAAH OF YOUR PIOUS PREDECESSORS!

istighfār of Sayyidi al-Hābib `Umār bin Hāfidh

Sayyidi al-Hābib `Umār bin Hāfidh رحمه الله recommends reading the following formulas of istighfār in the blessed month of Rājab.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ لِما يَعْلَمُهُ الله أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ كَما يُحِبُّهُ الله

Astaghfirullāh limā ya`lamuhu Allāh, Astaghfirullāh kamā yuḥibbuhu-llāh

I seek the forgiveness of Allāh for everything that He knows; I seek Allāh’s forgiveness in the way that He loves.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ذا الجَلالِ و الإِكْرَام مِنْ جَميعِ الذُّنوبِ و الآثام

Astaghfirullāh dha’l-Jalāli w’al-Ikrām min jamī` adhunūbi wa al-āthām.

I seek the forgiveness of Allāh, the Possessor of Majesty and Honour, for all my sins and wrongdoings.

Astaghfirullāh alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa arraḥmān arraḥīm al-Ḥayya al-Qayyum alladhī lā yamūtu wa atūbu ilayhi rabbi-ghfir lī

I seek the forgiveness of Allāh, besides Who there is no god; the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, the Living, the Sustainer, the One Who never dies and I repent to Him. O Lord, forgive me.

THE BENEFIT OF REPENTING QUICKLY

A BENEFIT OF REPENTING QUICKLY

By Moulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (Rahmatullah alaih).

Allâmah Âlûsî (Rahimahullâh) states in Tafsîr Rûhul Ma’ânî that one should repent immediately after committing a sin because sin creates darkness and due to this darkness, Iblîs makes the heart his headquarters. If you keep him in control for a long time, many sins will be committed.

Therefore, illuminate the heart by repenting quickly and shedding tears of regret. Shaytân will then have to flee. Just as a bat survives in darkness, similarly, shaytân also has the same nature. He survives in the darkness of sins. If you delay in repenting, he will remain there for longer. Do you wish to keep your enemy for a long while in your home?

Therefore, if you repent quickly, shaytân will flee due to the nûr of taubah.

ALLAH’S ATTRIBUTE OF GRACE:

At this point, Allâmah Âlûsî has narrated the incident of Ibrâhim Ibn Adham (Rahimahullâh). He was a king who sacrificed his kingdom for Allâh’s sake. He worshipped Allâh for ten years in a cave in Nishâpfr. Due to his blessing, the tafsîr of Allâh’s words is being presented to you.

NOW MY NAME WILL ALSO BE MENTIONED WITH YOUR NAME:

Many kings have left their kingdoms but no one blesses them with Allah’s mercy. But this king abandoned his kingdom on Allah’s name due to which Allâh granted him the honour of being mentioned on the tongue of the Auliyâ.

Allâmah Âlûsi has narrated his incident in the fourth part of the Qur’ân. After worshipping Allâh for ten years, Ibrâhim Ibn Adham set off for hajj. Whilst making tawâf, he requested Allâh to make him sinless. He heard a voice saying within himself, “O Ibrâhim, I know that you have abandoned the kingdom for My sake. I appreciate your love. But all of mankind is making the same request as you have made. O Ibrâhim, if We accept everyone’s duâ, then on whom will Our grace and honour be manifest? On whom will My attribute of forgiveness be shown? Supplicate in this manner that Allâh should protect you from sin and grant you the ability to repent. Seek steadfastness and if you commit any sin, immediately resort to repentance.

TWO PATHS LEADING TO ALLÂH:

Allâmah Isfarâînî (Rahimahullâh), the teacher of Imâm Ghazâlî (Rahimahullâh) supplicated for thirty years to Allâh to make him sinless. He wanted to be completely free from all types of sin. This was a special status he sought. Only the one who does not want to displease Allâh can make such a duâ. One day he thought that although he had been supplicating for thirty years, Allâh had not accepted his duâ despite being Karîm (generous in giving).

Completing one’s Ma’moolaat with Punctuality

Completing one’s Ma’moolaat with Punctuality
Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatull ahi ‘alaih) once mentioned:

Regardless of whether you find the motivation and drive towards righteous deeds and pious actions or not, you should still continue to be committed and do not pay attention towards any feelings. Diligently complete your daily ma’moolaat with punctuality (the tilaawat of the Qur’aan and zikrs that you have stipulated for yourself). (Qutbul Aqtaab Hazrat Sheikhul Hadith Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi ‘alai h) pg. 454)

Hadhrat Moulana Binnori (rahmatullahi alaih) and Salaah with Jamaat.

Hadhrat Moulana Binnori (rahmatullahi alaih) and Salaah with Jamaat.

“Once, some people had requested Hadhrat Moulana Yusuf Binnori rahmatullahi alaih to come to the opening of their shop after the Jumu`ah Salaah. Hadhrat said to them: “On Fridays I perform Asr Salaah in my Musjid. Ensure that my jamaat Salaah is not missed.’ They assured Hadhrat that they will make arrangements for him to make it for the jamaat. Generally, people are extremely enthusiastic to take (the buzurg to their place) since they only consider their own motives. As far as others are concerned then they are inconsiderate. When Hadhrat returned, the jamaat Salaah was over. Seeing this, Hadhrat began to cry bitterly. I saw Hadhrat crying profusely on that day and he lamented: “We do not possess the reality of Salaah. All we have is the imitation. The correct manner of Salaah is unknown to us. We merely imitate Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. If this imitation also does not remain, then what else do we have!” (Tuhfat-ul-M adaaris, vol. 1, p. 491) (Ihyauddeen)

I am to My servant as he expects of Me…

In a Hadith Qudsi, “Allah says: I am to my servant as he expects of Me, I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly better than his…” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Hurayra and Abu Sa’id reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “No people sit remembering Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, without the angels surrounding them and mercy covering them and tranquility descending on them and Allah mentioning them to those who are with Him.” [Muslim]

The Nasiri Dua – A Dua for the oppressed by Shaykh ibn Nasir ad Dari Rahimahullah

Nasiri Dua AP

The Nasiri Dua is from the pen of the renowned Sufi Shaykh of the Shadhiliyya Tariqa. Faced with the military power of France who were bombing villages in Morocco, the Shaykh Rahimahullah wrote this Dua which was recited in every Masjid in the Maghrib in various different styles. This Dua had such an effect that the French President issued a law banning its recitation. Due to the barakah of this beautiful Dua Morocco gained independence from France.

The power of this Dua of Imam Muhammad ibn Nasir  al-Dar’i lies in its simplicity, its purity, and its sincere supplication. It is essentially a plea to Allah that our transgressions be overlooked, that divine mercy be bestowed upon us, that social justice be restored in spite of us, that wrongs be righted, and that righteousness reign once again in our lands, so that the destitute may no longer be in need, the young may be educated, the animals’ purpose fulfilled, rain restored, and bounties poured forth. It is a plea to be freed from the aggression of foreigners in lands over which they have no right – a plea much needed in our modern world, rampant as it is with invasions and territorial occupations. Ultimately, it asks not that our enemies be destroyed, but simply that their plots, and the harm they cause, be halted. Its essence is mercy, which in turn is the essence of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: “And We have only sent you as a mercy to all the worlds.”
