What to read when someone is missing or something is lost.- incident of Shaykh Salih al Jafari Rahimahullah

What to read when someone is missing or something is lost

When Shaykh Salih al Jafari Rahimahullah was a student in the Azhar, he had one teacher who was blind, and whose young son would walk him from his home to the noble Azhar Mosque and back. One time when Shaykh Salih was away for a few days, this scholar lost his son, and his family searched for the boy for three days without being able to find him. When Shaykh Salih came back to the Azhar and greeted his teacher, the teacher said, “My son, O Salih!’ (my son is missing Oh Saleh) When Shaykh Shaykh became aware of the situation, he took his teacher’s hand and told him to recite with him the saying of Allah most great:

وَهُوَ عَلَى جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ

He is able to gather all of them together if He wills (42:29)

The scholar had barely finished repeating this verse after Shaykh Salih, when his young boy appeared. The scholar began kissing Shaykh Salih and saying to him, “You are blessed, Shaykh Salih! You are a wali of Allah most high!”

The Ayat is:

وَهُوَ عَلَى جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ

He is able to gather all of them together if He wills (42:29)

Amazing incident about the humility of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam !

Amazing incident of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam !

Abū Umāmah radiyallāhu ‛anhu narrates that Rasūlullāh sallallāhu ‛alayhi wa sallam passed by Baqī‛ al-Gharqad [the graveyard of Madīnah] on an intensely hot day and the people were walking behind him. When he heard their footsteps, this weighed heavily upon him. He therefore sat down until all the people passed him. He did this so that any effects of greatness may not settle on his heart [in other words, he may not feel proud that people are walking behind him].” (Ibn Mājah)

KEEPING THE HEART PURE

KEEPING THE HEART PURE

Some people came to Ibn Abbas RadiAllah Anh and said; “We went on Hajj, another man was also with us. When we reached the place called Zat us-Sifa, that man passed away. We arranged his funeral and dug a grave to bury him. When we were laying him to rest, we found his grave infested with black snakes. We immediately abandoned that grave and dug another grave, which, all of a sudden, was also infested with black snakes. We have, therefore, delayed his burial and have come to you for advice.” Ibn Abbas RadiAllah Anh said; ‘This is his hatred he kept in his heart towards others! Go and bury him in the same grave.'[Shaykh Ibn Abi al-Dunya Alayhi Rahma]

SURAH FATIHA as a cure for Epilepsy and every disease/illness

SURAH FATIHA as a cure for Epilepsy and every disease/illness

Abu Sulaiman says that once a group of Companions were in an expedition (ghazwa) when they happened to come across an epileptic person, who was unconscious. One of the Companions recited Surah Al-Fatiha and blew in his ear. The epileptic person was immediately cured. When Sayyidana Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) was informed of this, he said: “It (Surah Al-Fatiha) is “The Mother of the Qur’an” (Umm al-Qur’an) and is a cure for every disease.”[This narration has been recorded by Ath-Thua’lbi from Abu Sulaiman, who narrated it from Muawiya bin Saleh (radhi Allah anhu), Tafseer Mazhari 1:31]

THE HEALING IN SURAH AL-FATIHA

THE HEALING IN SURAH AL-FATIHA

Abu Saeed al-Khudr’i narrates that while on a journey we halted at a place. A girl came to us and said: “The chief of this tribe has been stung by a scorpion and our men are not present, is there anybody amongst you who can recite something upon him to treat him?” Then, one of our men went along with her although we did not think that he knew any such treatment. However, our friend went to the chief and recited something upon him and the chief was cured. Thereupon, the chief gave him thirty sheep and gave us all milk to drink. When he returned, we asked our friend: “Did you know anything to recite upon him to cure him?” He said: “No, I only recited Umm al-Kitab (i.e. Surah al-Fatihah) upon him.” We said that do not do anything until we reach Madinah and ask the Prophet regarding this (practice and reward-whether the sheep were lawful or not for us). Upon reaching Madinah, we narrated this to the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam), whereupon he remarked: “How did he come to know that Al-Fatihah can be used as a cure? (Rasulullah said this in astonishment) Distribute your reward amongst yourselves and allot a share for me as well.
[Sahih al-Bukhari]
